Finance Minister Will Take Part in Annual Meetings of World Bank, International Monetary Fund in Washington

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova will take part in the annual meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Finance Ministry reported on its website on Tuesday. The meetings will take place in Washington, D.C., from October 21 to 26.

The annual meetings will feature specialized discussions and presentations, sittings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee, the Development Committee, as well as of the Dutch group of countries, including also Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian delegation will be represented by the Finance Minister in her capacity as World Bank Governor for Bulgaria, Bulgarian National Bank Governor and IMF Manager for Bulgaria, Dimitar Radev, caretaker Deputy Finance Minister Metodi Metodiev and BNB Deputy Governor Petar Chobanov

The Bulgarian delegation will hold meetings with the World Bank and IMF senior management teams and with representatives of the financial sector, as the talks are expected to focus on the economic and financial challenges, risks and prospects against the backdrop of the series of global crises, as well as the reforms and priorities in the work of the IMF and the World Bank organizations, the Ministry said.
