Volkswagen Virtus sales cross the 50,000 mark in 28 months

By the end of Q3 2024, Volkswagen achieved domestic wholesales of 6.5 lakh units in India.

Volkswagen has announced that it has sold over 50,000 units of the Virtus in India since its launch in June 2022. It took slightly more than 28 months to achieve this milestone. VW sold 17,000 units of the Virtus in this calendar year alone.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “We are immensely grateful to all our customers for making the Volkswagen Virtus India’s no.1 selling premium sedan.” He added, “Ever since its launch, we have sold nearly 60 Virtus sedans every day.”

By the end of Q3 2024, Volkswagen achieved domestic wholesales of 6.5 lakh units in India. The combined domestic sales of the Virtus and Taigun crossed the 1 lakh unit mark in Q2 of 2024. These models contributed to nearly 18.5% of the brand’s domestic sales.

“We have also crossed the 6.5 lakh domestic wholesales milestone in India,” Gupta said. “With our latest, feature rich and advanced India 2.0 models – Taigun and Virtus, we have also witnessed significant success, with both models contributing to nearly 18.5% of our overall domestic sales since inception,” he added.
