Four Bangladeshi nationals sneak into India, nabbed near Byrnihat by Meghalaya police

Shillong, October 25: Four Bangladeshi nationals managed to sneak into India from Bangladesh, but were nabbed by Ri-Bhoi police on Friday based on inputs provided by the BSF.

The operation to nab these foreign nationals was undertaken in coordination between the BSF’s G branch and Ri-Bhoi police. The four Bangladeshi nationals crossed the border illegally entered India through the sector Sylhet.

Ri-Bhoi police set up a check point and at around 4:30 pm one tourist vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-GC-1071 driven by Md. Ali Hussain of Dhubri district Assam was intercepted.

Inside the vehicle were the four Bangladeshi who were detained. They were identified as Md Mintu (39) of Baroikhali village, Barishal, Md Runel (31) from Gupchor village, Dhaka, Johirul (29) of Gupchor village, Dhaka and Md Bilal (37) from Kamalpur, Brahmanbaria.

All four had fake documents on them. The police have registered a case under appropriate sections under Nongpoh police station.
