Louis Vuitton Unveils Men’s Fall Collection Inspired by Park Seo-Bo

Louis Vuitton has launched Fall, a Men’s Capsule Collection that just made its grand debut this week. The collection is inspired by the late South Korean painter Park Seo-Bo, who, before his passing, previously collaborated with the House on their ArtyCapucines project in 2019. Founded in Creative Director Pharrell Williams’s signature practice of dandy elegance, the capsule proposal hones in on switching dress codes instinctive to the Maison’s menswear display through a versatile and transversal wardrobe suspended between city life and weekend getaways.

Riffing off the themes introduced by Williams for the runway collection in June 2024, the capsule focuses on macro versus micro visions of color, construction, and surface decoration. This premise inspires a creative exchange with the Estate of Seo-Bo, known for his minimalist yet graphically impactful lines – across the collection’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, and shoes.

Demonstrating Louis Vuitton’s signature adaptation of traditional dress codes for contemporary life, the collection showcases a classic elegance through critical pieces like a black single-breasted cashmere overcoat with a slick gray wool tracksuit and a refined mocha fleece track jacket. Epi, the Maison’s emblematic leather initially inspired by the rippling of wheat fields, takes center stage with a reinterpretation in a magnified dimension, bringing intrigue to the House’s outerwear such as a beige double-breasted coat, a utilitarian beige blouson, and a leather bomber jacket. Showcasing the collection’s versatile silhouettes, the texture further appears in a cropped red double-breasted leather suit with flared trousers. With subdued tonal flair, the Monogram Macro upscales the Maison’s signifying Monogram flowers, emblazoning them on the leather panels of black suede blouson, a gray denim suit, and a mocha windbreaker.

When it comes to the House’sHouse’s leather goods, designed as artworks in their own right, each bag is informed by paintings and colorways from Park Seo-Bo’Seo-Bo’sre series, from air blue to neon green and maple red. Lined in beige echoing traditional Korean hanji paper, each carries a tag referencing the artwork that inspired them. They manifest as an air blue Christopher backpack, a neon green Sac Plat, a maple red Alma, a neon green Cotteville 16 Montres, and a neon green or maple red Keepall. Smaller pieces include an air-blue Pochette and a Pocket Organizer in three colorways. Reimagined in the spirit of the paintings of Park Seo-Bo, the LV Trainer Maxi fuses the artist’s art with the grain of the Epi texture. With its characteristic Damier-imprinting rubber sole, the LV Checker boot re-emerges as a Chelsea boot in a mocha or beige Epi suede and a laced ranger boot.

Accessories like classic scarves are adorned with the LV Blason pattern, while wrap-able mini Comfy Scarves in ribbed knit with LV logos come with matching beanies. A screen-printed silk square takes inspiration from a Seo-Bo painting, while LV Epi sunglasses are proposed in two models: a round metal frameless with silver-colored temples engraved with the Epi texture. The capsule also features silver fashion jewelry like necklaces, bracelets, cuffs, rings, tie pins, cufflinks, and earrings forged in Silver 925 inscribed with LV letters and flowers.
