India is one of the largest markets for air travel from Singapore, along with Indonesia, Malaysia, China, and Australia. In November 2024, seven airlines, including the two flag carriers Air India and Singapore Airlines, have scheduled direct commercial flights between the two countries. What are the other airlines, from the smallest to largest in terms of number of flights?
7 Druk Air
17 flights
Perhaps unexpectedly, Druk Air is one of the seven airlines to operate direct flights between India and Singapore. The flag carrier of Bhutan operates flights between its hub at Paro International Airport (PBH) and Singapore, with a stopover at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Assam, Northeast India.
Druk Air has 17 one-way flights planned between Guwahati and Singapore, and is one of only four international routes from Guwahati. The carrier’s service to Paro is one of these international routes, with the other two being AirAsia’s service to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and Thai AirAsia’s flights to Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK).
6 Vistara
62 flights
Vistara was formed in 2015 as part of a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, so it is logical that the carrier operates a number of routes between the two countries. Vistara has a total of 62 flights scheduled between Singapore and Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai, and Pune Airport (PNQ).

However, Vistara will merge with Air India on 12 November 2024, meaning that the above three routes will cease. All of the carrier’s 70 aircraft will transfer across to Air India at that time, including:
- 52 Airbus A320neos
- 6 Airbus A321neos
- 7 Boeing 787-9s.

5 Air India Express
240 flights
Air India Express is the low-cost subsidiary of the country’s flag carrier Air India, and will operate a total of 240 flights between India and Singapore in November 2024. These flights will be spread across three routes:
- Singapore (SIN) – Madurai (IXM)
- Singapore (SIN) – Thiruchirappalli (TRZ)
- Singapore (SIN) – Chennai (MAA).

Data from ch-aviation shows that Air India Express currently operates a fleet of 91 aircraft, with an average age of just over 9 years old. The carrier’s fleet includes five Airbus A320neos and 34 Boeing 737 MAX 8s.
4 Scoot
352 flights
The low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines commenced operations in June 2012, and currently operates from Singapore Changi Airport to more than 60 destinations across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as long-haul services to Athens (ATH), Berlin (BER), and Jeddah (JED).
When it comes to its operations in India, Scoot will operate six direct routes between Singapore and India in November 2024:
- Singapore (SIN) – Amritsar (ATQ)
- Singapore (SIN) – Coimbatore (CJB)
- Singapore (SIN) – Chennai (MAA)
- Singapore (SIN) – Thiruvananthapuram (TRV)
- Singapore (SIN) – Tiruchirappalli (TRZ)
- Singapore (SIN) – Visakhapatnam (VTZ).

Scoot is the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, and like the national carrier, it is based at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).
3 Air India
446 flights
It is no surprise that the flag carrier, Air India, features highly in this list. In November 2024, Air India will fly to Singapore Changi Airport from five cities across the country:
- Bengaluru (BLR)
- Chennai (MAA)
- Delhi (DEL)
- Mumbai (BOM)
- Pune (PNQ).
In total, Air India will operate 446 flights between India and Singapore in November 2024. Air India operates a varied fleet of narrowbody and widebody aircraft, including the Airbus A320neo, Airbus A350, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787.

2 IndiGo
649 flights
IndiGo has a significant presence in Singapore, serving the country from nine different destinations across India:

- Coimbatore (CJB)
- Delhi (DEL)
- Hyderabad (HYD)
- Kolkata (CCU)
- Mumbai (BOM)

Since it was founded in 2006, IndiGo has grown to be the largest airline today in India when measured by passengers carried and fleet size. The low-cost carrier also currently boasts an impressive 62% domestic market share.

As the flag carrier and largest airline at Singapore Changi Airport, it makes sense that Singapore Airlines operates the most flights between the two countries in November 2024. Focusing on major cities throughout India, Singapore Airlines flies to:

- Bengaluru (BLR)
- Mumbai (BOM)
- Calcutta (CCU)
- Kochi (COK)
- Delhi (DEL)
- Hyderabad (HYD)
- Chennai (MAA).
