Sana’a – Saba:

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer discussed on Sunday with Acting Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Ibrahim al-Haddad the development of the humanitarian response and needs plan for 2025.

Amer underscored the importance of preparing, approving, and implementing the draft plan in coordination with relevant ministries, which play a crucial role in identifying needs and providing data, particularly for various districts across the republic’s provinces.

He emphasized the need for open discussions between ministries and international organizations, including OCHA, to foster common understandings that facilitate procedures and enhance project success.

Amer noted that involving relevant ministries throughout the project lifecycle—from workshops to implementation and handover—is essential for timely execution.

Minister Amer expressed gratitude to the OCHA representative for his receptiveness to the ministers’ feedback and for addressing their concerns constructively.

In response, OCHA acting director thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for organizing the meeting with relevant ministries, calling it a positive step for the Government of Change and Construction.

Al-Haddad affirmed his commitment to addressing all comments made during the meeting.

He clarified that OCHA’s role is limited to coordination with ministries and government institutions, stating that no activities or projects are implemented without the approval of the relevant ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
