6-Year-Old Video Game Film That Should’ve Had a Sequel Gets Free Streaming Home

The 2018 film adaptation of Square Enix’s adventure video game Tomb Raider has received a brand-new streaming update for next month. In the reboot movie, Oscar winner Alicia Vikander took on the role of Lara Croft, following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie, who originally portrayed the iconic character in the 2001 and 2003 versions of Tomb Raider.

Starting on Friday, Nov. 1, Warner Bros. Pictures’ Tomb Raider reboot will officially be available to stream for free on Tubi. The film was based on the 2013 version of the video game, which served as the tenth installment of the hit action game franchise. The story centers around Lara Croft’s perilous quest to find her archaeologist father, who has been missing for seven years. During its theatrical run, the film garnered mixed reviews from critics, but it has a cult following, with some fans labeling the film among the best video game adaptations. Like 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie, the reboot also coincidentally earned a worldwide gross of at least $275 million.
