The prime minister noted recent developments along the Indo-China border, particularly the disengagement of troops at friction points in Demchok and Depsang Plains in Ladakh. This agreement comes after over four years of standoff at the Line of Actual Control, underscoring the importance of strategic restraint and diplomatic efforts alongside military readiness.

Modi further emphasised the government’s focus on modernising military equipment and infrastructure. He highlighted the Border Roads Organisation’s (BRO) achievement of constructing 80,000 kilometres of strategic roads. To bolster defence capabilities, the government is acquiring advanced drones, including Predator drones, for all military branches. Indian companies are also making strides in drone technology, showcasing India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

In his address, Modi pointed to Kutch’s potential for tourism, especially with plans to grow mangrove forests that could attract visitors. He drew parallels to the popular Dhordo Rann Utsav, expressing confidence that Kutch could become a major destination for border tourism. In closing, Modi commended the armed forces, calling them the protectors of India’s vision for development.
