Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Rochester Simon’s MBA curriculum or programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? As someone who has led the organization culture role, I have realized the secret ingredient for any organization’s success is its people. From Simon alumni, I learned that the community here is not just supportive, but also driven by curiosity and a shared passion for growth. Whether it’s overcoming challenges or building strength to strength, the community at University of Rochester uplift one another in every aspect of life—class, home, work, social, etc. You will always find someone standing there with you. After years in the professional world, I’ve learned that I thrive in such culture that embodies the University’s motto Meliora—a relentless pursuit of being “ever better”—which I have found here.

Rochester Simon is known for being “unabashedly analytical.” Why does the program’s focus on quantitative analysis and decision-making appeal to you? How do you intend to leverage this approach as a student and professional? As a visual thinker, Simon’s reputation for being “unabashedly analytical” deeply resonates with me as I don’t just see numbers as mere data; to me, they tell a story, paint a picture, and reveal underlying needs. Throughout my career, I’ve made it a priority to translate data into actionable narratives addressing real-world challenges—an approach that has been instrumental in my career success. I’m excited to immerse myself in an environment where others share this analytical mindset, and I look forward to enhancing my skills and knowledge, especially with the evolving development of AI in business. This will not only help me grow, but also enable me to contribute meaningfully as both a student and a professional.

What are some advantages you’ve seen in earning your MBA in Rochester? Earning my MBA in Rochester offers several unique advantages that align perfectly with my needs: global background and diverse outlook. As a child of globalization, Arab and Bangladesh cultures are interwoven in my DNA—the people, the food, and the mannerisms are home to me. Growing up as an international in mega cities with friends from all parts of the world, I thrive in diverse atmospheres. Rochester, with its rich and varied population, provides a welcoming environment where I can find a sense of community with people from all corners of the globe. The city itself strikes a perfect balance—large and interesting enough to explore, yet not overwhelming like some major urban centers. This makes it an ideal place to immerse myself in student life without the mega city financial strain. Rochester also boasts easy access to international cuisine and ingredients, allowing me to stay connected to my roots. Plus, the incredible natural beauty surrounding Rochester—lakes, state parks, rivers, and waterfalls—offers endless possibilities for outdoor adventures. Here, I truly get the best of both worlds: a world-class MBA program and a fulfilling wholesome lifestyle.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Simon? I am super excited to be a part of the Outdoor Adventure Club and experience all that Western New York has to offer—we are going hiking, white water rafting, skiing, tubing, and so much more! Who said school had to be all fun and no adventure?

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Giving back to people; I love how my work has been able to drive livelihood changes in Bangladesh. Being the change enabler with the products we have launched, the solutions we have built for millions of people will forever inspire me.

What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)? I want to continue this path of solving real people’s problems, become even better and driven as a human-centric problem solver, and build long-lasting sustainable solutions in whichever industry I end up in. In this revenue growth-centric world, I strive to be the voice of the people to empower societies.
