Eight Join BU Athletic Hall of Fame at 55th Induction Ceremony

BOSTON – The Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame held its 55th induction ceremony on Saturday at Agganis Arena’s Francis D. Burke Club Room, as a group of eight Terrier standouts comprised the Class of 2024. 

Adela Cejnarova ’17 (golf), Meghann Cook ’06 (soccer), Fiola Foley ’01 (rowing), Ally Hammel ’19 (field hockey), Tim Masick ’69 (baseball), Marisa Ryan ’07 (cross country, track & field), Anne Sheridan ’05 (lacrosse) and Tony Simms ’83 (basketball) officially joined the list of all-time greats in the BU Athletic Hall of Fame.

In addition to the inductees, the Hall of Fame presented the Aldo “Buff” Donelli Memorial Leadership Award to Anna Dechantsreiter ’24 (rowing) and Griffin Roach ’24 (soccer). Longtime supporters, the Agganis Family, were the recipient of the Roger “Moose” Washburn Memorial Award and WBZ senior sports producer Jackie Connally ’83 was presented with the Murray Kramer Memorial Award. Currently in his 29th year at BU, strength & conditioning coach Glenn Harris was selected as the winner of the William French Memorial Award and Vera Sjöberg, a junior on the women’s cross country and track & field teams, was awarded the Irv Heller Hall of Fame Scholarship.

Doug Brown ’78, a recently retired BU men’s basketball broadcaster, served as emcee for the event, which was attended by over 125 people.
