Bold Predict Amid FSU Coaching Rumors
Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, or as some know him, Prime Time, has become a name that resonates not just in the NFL but also in college football. Fans are buzzing with the question: Will he go back to the NFL when his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, get drafted? Adding an interesting twist, Florida State University (FSU) might be looking for a new head coach after Mike Norvell’s rough 1-8 season. Could they turn to their famous alumni, Deion? It’s a classic case of an opportunity that once slipped away coming back around.
Recently, on the show All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson, Keyshawn shared his opinion on the matter. He confidently said, “Prime will be in Colorado next year. He wouldn’t take a job at FSU. He loves Colorado. He’s part of the community now. He can win and change lives.” According to Johnson, Deion is fully committed to Colorado, and even Stephen A. Smith earlier came in with a similar strong statement. Well, both of them note that FSU missed a golden chance by not hiring Sanders when they had the opportunity. Even though Sanders has deep ties to FSU as an alumnus, it’s known that his relationship with the school’s administration has been tense.

Back in 2019, FSU interviewed Sanders for their head coaching position when his only coaching experience was at the high school level. Ultimately, they passed on him due to his limited experience. Keyshawn Johnson pointed out that this decision still stings for Sanders. Johnson said, “What Florida State did to him, RJ, and looked over him, I think it’s still a sore spot because he believed that he deserved the opportunity that they didn’t give him.”

This history is a big reason why many think Sanders wouldn’t want to go back to FSU. And now, Colorado Buffaloes has shown they’re willing to do what it takes to keep him, with attractive contracts and resources. So, what’s next for Sanders?
Is Deion Sanders staying put in Boulder?
One thing is clear: the Sanders brothers are heading to the NFL. What’s uncertain is where they’ll land. Shedeur, the talented Buffs quarterback, and Shilo, their standout safety, are gearing up for the draft. Rumors are swirling that Jerry Jones might want Shedeur for the Cowboys and could potentially lure Deion Sanders into a coaching role. Paul Finebaum even said, “I don’t think Deion Sanders will be there next year,” fueling more speculation.

However, Coach Prime’s eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., recently hinted at the uncertainty. He said, “You know, it’s uncertain after December so it is what it is. I’m going spend as much time with my fam as I can because we don’t know what the future holds like. I mean, we do, my dad still going to be in Colorado. They [brothers and Travis Hunter] going to be elsewhere,” which suggests Deion might stay put in Colorado.
Travis Hunter, the Buffs’ dynamic two-way star, backed this up in a recent podcast with RG3. He confidently said that Deion “loves it here [in Boulder],” which seems like a positive sign for a longer stay. With Deion’s passion for uplifting the players and even personal touches like gold-plated locker room additions, all signs point to him continuing to build something lasting at Colorado.
