One-year gastronomic campaign will boost tourism in Georgia: Maia Omiadze

Maia Omiadze, head of Georgia’s national tourism administration underlined the importance of a one-year gastronomic campaign.

The campaign  involves the British culinary expert Jamie Oliver, who will promote Georgian tourism through his social media handles.

Information in this regard was recently shared by an official of the Georgian tourism administration. The tourism administration of Georgia is working to promote Georgian tourism and implement many initiatives.

Maia Omiadze while talking about the campaign on Saturday, added, “This one-year campaign will be a game changer. The entry of a British culinary artist will highlight Georgia’s tourism internationally as well.”

Maia Omiadze informed the media during her brief interview with representatives of Imedi TV. She said Oliver had travelled to different regions of the country and shared glimpses of these beautiful locations on his social media platforms as well.

Millions of followers of Oliver have come to know how many wonderful places are located in Georgia. Oliver also shared information about Georgian tourism on BBC also.

The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is one of the international and old media platforms and has its presence in many countries.

While speaking further, she added, We completed many successful campaigns this year. At the same time, we have many such plans in the pipelines that will be executed shortly.

She also revealed how the Georgian tourism administration is planning to expand the campaign to European countries, including Germany and Great Britain. The plan also includes covering Gulf countries under the campaign.

According to her the BBC has covered 20 videos in Georgia. These videos will be aired on the BBC in series to encourage tourists to visit Georgia. The Olver video on social media platforms got a huge response.

The YouTube video already has more than 5 million views. Meanwhile, the Georgian National Tourism Authority is also discussing China and India as the next destinations for expanding the campaign. This will attract a large number of tourists from the two biggest countries of Asia.
