(This story will be updated to add new information.)
CLEMSON — After its upset home night loss to Louisville on Saturday, Clemson football dropped from No. 8 to No. 17 in the US LBM Coaches Poll released Sunday.
The Tigers (6-2, 5-1 ACC) received 513 points and no first-place votes. They are the third-ranked ACC team, finishing behind No. 4 Miami (1,194 points) and No. 15 SMU (603).
This was Clemson’s first conference loss this season, which snapped its six-game win streak. It looks to bounce back on the road against Virginia Tech (5-4, 3-2) on Nov. 9 (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Lane Stadium.
One other ACC schools made the top 25: Pittsburgh (178 points) at No. 23.
ACC teams that did not make the coaches top 25 poll, but received votes were Louisville (38) and Syracuse (24).
Oregon remained at No. 1 in the poll, earning 1,349 points and 53 first-place votes, and Georgia stayed at No. 2 with 1,267 points and one first-place vote.
The weekly poll is voted on by a panel of coaches chosen by random draw. Voters submit a top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place worth 24, and so on down to one point for 25th, according to USA TODAY Sports.
