Amamere Folk Music N Dance Ensemble Steals Show in Dubai

Amamere Folk Music N Dance Ensemble, a renowned cultural music and dance group, performed brand-new dance pieces and compositions for fans of traditional music and dance lovers over the weekend at an event held in Dubai.

The allure of watching the performance of the group on stage proved to be so much entertaining for some of the enthused fans as they eventually deserted their seats and stands to joined in the dancing.

At the event, the group which is made up talented instrumentalists such as by Alexander Amoah (gome player), Philip Williams (djembe player) Isaac Antwi (plays maracas),Ronald Appiah (congas), Samuel Isgood (Atumpan player), Sulemana Issah (Plays talking drum) and Evans Badu (Shekere) together with their female singers and dancers Karen Obuba, Dora Buabeng, Rosina Adu and Sarah Frimpomaa performed nostalgic folk music and dances from their extensive collection of traditional and choreographed pieces, delighting the audience made of people from all walks of life.

The group which has made appearances at several national cultural festivals in the country has also in the past organized workshops for students where they taught Ghanaian traditional music and dance.

Amamere Folk Music N Dance Ensemble has been working to promote and advance traditional Ghanaian music and dance over the years and therefore it was not surprising g to see multinationals from all walks of life on vacation in Dubai groove to their performance.

When asked what’s next after Dubai, the leadership has this to say “we will be going to the United States this December to thrill lovers of African cultural music with our performances.”
