All You Need to Know about ONE UN Egypt Pavilion at WUF12

In conjunction with the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), running in Cairo from November 4 to 8, 2024, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, the United Nations community in Egypt will engage through the “ONE UN Egypt Pavilion,” located in Hall 4, where various activities will unfold during the forum.

The ONE UN Egypt Pavilion will present a range of programs, activities, and initiatives undertaken by the UN in Egypt, highlighting the UN system’s strategy for addressing the challenges of sustainable urbanization. 

The pavilion will serve as a crucial platform for showcasing the collaborative efforts and assistance provided by UN agencies to the Egyptian government, while also promoting partnerships with key stakeholders from both the UN and governmental sectors.

Participating organizations include UN-Habitat, the UN Information Center in Cairo, UNESCO, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Organization for Migration, UNICEF, UNRWA, the World Food Programme, the United Nations Population Fund, and the Food and Agriculture Organization, along with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, reflecting the UN’s unified commitment to addressing urban challenges.

Throughout the forum, the pavilion will facilitate over 25 side events that will concentrate on initiatives and projects demonstrating collaboration and support for the Egyptian government’s objectives in sustainable urbanization. These events will include interactive discussions with experts from diverse fields, illustrating how their initiatives align with the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda.

This event seeks not only to showcase the coordinated efforts of UN agencies but also to foster networking opportunities with leaders in urban development and to enhance strategic partnerships for innovative urban solutions, according to UN Egypt. 

The ONE UN Egypt Pavilion will further emphasize the joint endeavors of UN agencies in addressing urban challenges.
