Brezza, Grand Vitara and More Help Maruti Suzuki Register Highest-ever Monthly Sales in October

In October, Maruti Suzuki reached a significant milestone by registering its highest-ever monthly sales, with over 2.06 lakh units sold. This surge was driven largely by strong demand for Utility Vehicles (UVs) like the Brezza and Grand Vitara, which have proven popular among consumers. The automaker’s diverse range of vehicles continues to attract a wide audience, highlighting its strong presence in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki Sales Figures: October 2024

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

Maruti Suzuki India reported a record monthly sales figure for October, reaching over 2.06 lakh units, reflecting a 4% increase compared to the same month last year, when sales totalled about 1.99 lakh units. However, domestic passenger vehicle sales fell to around 1.60 lakh units from 1.68 lakh units in October of the previous year, indicating a 5% decline. Sales in the mini segment, which includes the Alto and S-Presso, dropped to 10,687 units from 14,568 units last year. Likewise, compact car sales, encompassing models like Baleno, Celerio, and Swift, fell from 80,662 units to 65,948 units. Conversely, utility vehicles such as the Brezza and Grand Vitara experienced a sales boost, reaching 70,644 units, up from 59,147 units. The Eeco van saw a slight decrease in sales to 11,653 units from 12,975 units, while the Super Carry light commercial vehicle recorded sales of 3,539 units, down from 3,894 units. Lastly, exports for October increased to 33,168 units, up from 21,951 units a year earlier.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire India Launch on November 11

In other developments, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the new-generation Dzire on November 11, following the earlier arrival of the 2024 Swift. The Dzire, recognised as the top-selling sedan in India, will feature a range of updates both inside and out. Changes include a refreshed grille with LED headlights, new LED taillights, and a new set of alloy wheels. Reports indicate the possibility of an electric sunroof as well.

Inside, the updated model is expected to come with a modern touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and a wireless charging pad. There may also be a 360-degree camera system available. On the mechanical front, the Dzire is anticipated to use a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine, similar to that in the Swift, generating 81bhp of maximum power and 112Nm of peak torque, with options for a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. Its primary competitors include the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.
