Zach Bryan Says He’s Been “Recording Music For 40 Hours Straight” Amid Diss Track Drama With Brianna Chickenfry

That’s… a lot.

The current Zach Bryan versus Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia) drama has been pretty much nonstop, especially over the last several days after her boss, Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy, put out a scathing diss track “Smallest Man.”

Portnoy, along with BFFs podcast co-host Josh Richards, released the diss track on Tuesday evening, which is a take off of Taylor Swift’s song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.”

It was quickly removed by Youtube after Zach’s label, Warner Music, filed a copyright claim over it. They thought it was because they sampled Zach’s song “28” at the end of their video, but it was actually because Richards is currently signed to Warner… a pretty wild turn of events, and important piece of information to leave out when they made this whole song, but I digress…

Portnoy said in a TikTok video last night that he’s working on a new version without Josh, so I’m sure that’s coming sooner rather than later… he also said that Rone has a whole album worth of material. Yeesh…

Anywho, Zach and Brianna broke up a couple weeks ago, and it quickly went public after Zach confirmed the news himself on Instagram, because rumors had been circulating online that they were no longer together. Brianna posted a teary-eyed video saying she was “blindsided” that he put the information out so soon, saying she was under the impression that they would wait a little while to make it public.

Since then, plenty of details have come out about their relationship, with Portnoy in particular saying he “never liked” Zach, and even telling a pretty crazy story about the time Zach banned him and Richards from coming to one of his concerts.

It’s really been a sh*t show, honestly, but the episode of BFF’s many have been waiting for drops tonight, where Brianna is apparently spilling all the tea about what went down in her relationship with one of country music’s biggest young stars.

In the midst of it all, Zach released a new song last night called “This World’s A Giant,” and he announced that another new song is dropping tomorrow.

A short while ago on his Instagram stories, Zach shared a photo of him and a band member wearing masks with a message saying he’s been “recording music for 40 hours straight”:

“Been recording music for 40 hours straight, send help, new song is out tonight.”

He obviously didn’t allude directly to anything with the breakup, and he really hasn’t said much explicitly about it except for that first post confirming he and Brianna had broken up.

Zach didn’t provide any further details about the song, and it’s highly unlikely that it’s a diss track along the lines of what Portnoy and Richards put out, but the fact that he said he’s been recording for over two straight days sounds a little wild to me. Then again, when you’re trying to stay busy and keep your mind away from the noise and the drama… locking yourself in the studio and throwing your phone in the garbage is probably a great, productive way to do that.

Stay tuned, I’m sure there’s a lot more to come here before it’s all said and done… sounds like Zach has an albums worth (read: breakup album) of music on the way, too.
