Georgia hosts science festival from September 16 to October 19

Georgia: To promote science among young people and engage them in research and innovation activities, a Science Festival is being held in regions of Georgia. It started on September 16 in Zugdidi and will cover all major cities of Georgia until October 19.

On September 26-27, Gori State University will host the scientific festival. On September 27, Telavi State University will be named after Yakob Gogebashvili; on October 1, the scientific festival will be held in Akhaltsikhe near Rabati; on October 3-4 at Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University; and on October 18-19, the festival will be held at the open space of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, in which Ivane Javakhishvili’s Tbilisi name will be played The University of Ifo.

To raise awareness of the importance of science and innovation in society, the festival held in Zugdidi was implemented as a presentation of national scientific, technological, and innovative potential, as well as in the regions of Georgia, supporting the internationalization of research activities, and motivating young people in the field of science and interdisciplinary research.

With the participation of Georgian and foreign professors, public lectures and discussions in the fields of interdisciplinary studies (philosophy, political science, culture and cultural heritage, social responsibility, biotechnologies, economics, philosophy of law) were held within the festival.

The exhibition part of the event was dedicated to fun, educational, and research experiments. There were also forensic lab trials, pharmaceutical drug technology experiments, first aid master classes, veterinary laboratory experiments, and archaeology or biotechnology exhibitions.

The science festival was held with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and participated: Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University; “Horizon Europe” – National Office; SP Ivane Beritashvili Center for Experimental Biomedicine; SP Georgian Agriculture Academy; SP Evgeni Kharadze Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory; Bremen University (Germany); Krakow Institute of Political Science (Poland); University of Warsaw (Poland).
