Strategic acquisition sees Sydney team expand office count to 9

A McGrath team in the city’s south continues its expansion with three new offices.

McGrath St George South West Group has announced the acquisition of three offices in the Sutherland Shire, adding the staff and locations that formerly operated as McGrath Cronulla, Sylvania and Engadine to the fold.

To be led by McGrath St George South West Group principals Matthew King and Kieran Bresnahan, this brings their office count in the area to nine, with shopfronts now located in Cronulla, Sylvania, Engadine, Sans Souci, Brighton Le Sands, South Hurstville, Beverly Hills, Oatley and Revesby.

The expanded group will comprise a sales team of 37 lead agents and 28 sales agent associates. Together, the team will now boast an expanded footprint, covering the area from Kingsgrove in the north to Cronulla in the south, Kurnell in the east to Engadine in the west of the Shire and to Revesby in the south-west.

Chris Mourd, McGrath’s head of franchise network, noted that the professionals who are joining the St George South West Group will be a great resource to the expanding enterprise.

“We have an outstanding team in the Shire dedicated to prestige sales and exemplary customer service,” he said.

Mourd added he was pleased to see the deal bring together these teams that have a lot of common ground when it comes to their areas of expertise.

“We have always promoted the cross pollination of buyers and sellers between the Sutherland Shire and the St George areas, and this shift will further enhance that collaboration,” he said.

On his part, King said he saw great opportunities for his team in the Shire.

“There are a lot of buyers coming from the east and the inner west, as well as from our St George South West area. These buyers are attracted to the Shire for its lifestyle and waterfront accessibility, beaches and natural beauty,” he said.

Noting that the merger is still in a state of transition, Bresnahan added that looking forward, the group will “operate as one, giving us the ability to better serve our clients”.

Mourd has every expectation that the duo, who have been operating under the McGrath banner in the Shire since 2003, will navigate the change well and steer their business to greater levels of success.

“Both Matt and Kieran are Shire locals and are well-placed to understand client needs,” he said.
