IIT-Bombay’s SINE Partners With Google For Startups To Host AI Academy India 2024

Mumbai: The Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) partnered with Google for Startups to host the AI Academy India 2024, a three-day bootcamp aimed at empowering early-stage startups through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Held at IIT-B, the bootcamp focused on leveraging AI to address critical global challenges in sectors such as healthcare, climate, agriculture, education, financial inclusion, and infrastructure.

Supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub, the bootcamp welcomed 34 innovative startups from across Maharashtra.

These startups had the opportunity to access expert-led training, mentorship, cutting-edge AI technologies, and up to $350,000 in cloud credits. They also benefited from networking opportunities with key industry leaders, providing them with valuable insights and connections.

The startups participating in the bootcamp are working on groundbreaking AI solutions, including personalised solar adoption technologies to combat climate change, Gen Z-focused fintech platforms, road safety solutions to improve public infrastructure, and healthcare innovations such as nationwide vaccination services.

Throughout the three days, the bootcamp offered workshops on human-centred AI design, product refinement, and hands-on training in Generative AI and app development. Technical mentorship on Google’s AI technologies was also provided, alongside strategic advice on go-to-market plans, including AI-driven marketing, fundraising, and scaling business growth.
