Cast your vote for Cheboygan Tribune 2024 best girls fall sports athlete

CHEBOYGAN – The fall sports season was so much fun.  

Throughout the campaign, many Cheboygan-area athletes had success in their respective sports.

With 2024 ending soon, be sure to vote for the best high school girls athlete of the fall. The poll opens on Thursday morning and closes at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Here’s a look at the nominees:  

Tessa Lake, Cheboygan Volleyball – Broke out with a huge junior season for the Chiefs, earning all-Northern Shores Conference and all-area first team honors and securing a spot on the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association all-region team.  

Elizabeth Furman, Inland Lakes Cross Country – Despite being injured for much of the fall, Furman fought through it and had a strong season for the Bulldogs, qualifying for the state finals for a second consecutive year and earning all-Ski Valley first team accolades.  

Kerry-Ann Ming, Mackinaw City Volleyball – Another volleyball player who came into her own this fall was Ming, whose stellar season was good enough to earn her all-Northern Lakes Conference first team and all-region recognition.  

Grace Watson, Onaway Volleyball – The Ski Valley Conference’s player of the year helped fuel the Cardinals to an undefeated conference title-winning campaign, while she also earned MIVCA all-state second team and all-region honors.  

Lanie Irwin, Pellston Volleyball – Was a top performer for the Hornets all season, picking up all-state honorable mention recognition and being named to the all-Ski Valley first team and all-region squad.
