This Shah Rukh Khan’s movie featuring 2 famous actresses earned Rs 191 crore, but was still considered a flop

Zero was directed by Aanand L. Rai. Though the movie was expected to attract audiences to cinema halls, and Shah Rukh’s fans were eagerly waiting for the film, it flopped.

Shah Rukh Khan rules millions of hearts but not only in India but everywhere in the world. He’s called “king of Bollywood’ as he evokes emotions with every scene he plays in, especially when people see him in romantic and family roles.

However, the ‘King of Bollywood’ can also fail sometimes in delivering box office hits even when many of his movies are forever memorable. One of his movies that failed to do good at the box office is Zero.

The film was released in 2018 starring big names from the Hindi film industry like Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma and Salman Khan who made a cameo. Zero was directed by Aanand L. Rai. Though the movie was expected to attract audiences to cinema halls, and Shah Rukh’s fans were eagerly waiting for the film, it flopped.

Zero film’s story

Shah Rukh Khan played the role of Baua, who was Shah Rukh’s most unique character as he was not just any 38-year-old man but a dwarf. He was unmarried. Both the ladies of the films also had significant roles. While Katrina Kaif played the role of a superstar named Babita Kumari with whom Baua falls in love, Anushka Sharma portrayed Afia, a woman suffering from cerebral palsy.

The film had a unique storyline which many people even appreciated, however the film failed to come upto audiences’ expectations and could not attract their interests. Surprisingly, failing to attract many audiences to theatres, the film still managed to earn Rs 178 crore globally. This must seem to be a good number for a movie’s profit, however, when it comes to a star with the stature of Shah Rukh Khan’s, this is not what an SRK film would expect to earn.

Zero is not Shah Rukh’s only flop film, others include Jab Harry Met Sejal, Fan, Dulha Mil Gaya, and King Uncle, also underperformed at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan is on a roll, having recently delivered three consecutive hits: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. He’s now gearing up to captivate audiences with his upcoming movie, King. Although initially set to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Siddharth Anand has reportedly taken the reins. The action-thriller’s script has been co-written by Ghosh, Anand, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya.
