Generation Beta arrives: UAE welcomes first newborns of 2025

Abu Dhabi: As the world celebrates the New Year, a new generation has begun its journey: Generation Beta.

Spanning those born between 2025 and 2039, this cohort is set to inherit a highly digitized and interconnected world, tackling global challenges such as climate change, AI ethics, and socio-political evolution.

Generation Beta follows Generation Alpha (2013–2024), known for their early integration with advanced technology, AI, and global awareness.

Each generation has distinct traits, with their naming conventions beginning from the Builders (1928–1945) to the forthcoming Generation Gamma (2040–2054), as outlined by Australian demographer McCrindle.

At the stroke of midnight,

The UAE welcomed the first of Generation Beta babies across various hospitals. In Abu Dhabi, Burjeel Hospital, Medeor Hospital, and LLH Hospital reported the arrival of the first Beta newborns. Fujairah’s Thumbay Hospital and Sharjah’s Medcare Hospital also welcomed newborns.

Dubai saw the birth of Beta babies at Aster Hospital Al Qusais and Prime Hospital, while Ras Al Khaimah’s RAK Hospital joined in celebrating the arrival of the new generation.
