Five From Football Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

On Tuesday, it was announced that five Lindenwood football players have earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Vincent King, Steve Hall, Gareth Warren, Abe Haerr, and Nate Glantz each garnered recognition due to their work in the classroom and on the field.

King, who carried a 4.0 as an exercise science major, King made an instant impact on the defense after coming over from Northern Colorado. The Denver, Colo. native made 106 stops, which led the team and ranked second in the Big South-OVC. King made 10 or more tackles in six games, including a season-high 17 against Missouri State, which culminated in a Defensive Player of the Week honor. 64 of those stops were solo tackles, the sixth-most in FCS.

The senior linebacker found himself in the backfield quite often, leading the team in tackles for loss (9.5) and quarterback hurries (8).

Hall garnered a 3.66 in the classroom majoring in finance. Hall rushed for 808 yards and five touchdowns on 111 carries, good for 7.3 yards per carry. He also caught 14 passes for 83 yards during the 2024 season. The St. Louis, Mo. native was tabbed Big South-OVC Freshman of the Week four times during the year and earned FCS National Freshman of the Week once after rushing for 259 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Western Illinois. The 259 yards were 13 shy of the program single-game rushing record. He was named a Freshman All-American by Football Central and Phil Steele.

Warren who had a 3.78 cumulative GPA, majoring in criminal justice was one of the best offensive lineman in the Big South-OVC. Warren stockpiled the accolades while with the Black and Gold, being named a three-time all-conference performer, including first team honors this past season. In his four seasons at Lindenwood, he appeared in 39 games. The native of Hawaii was named to the Shrine Bowl 1000 List and the Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list prior to the 2024 season. He will also play in the East-West Shrine Bowl on January 30 in Arlington, Texas.

The native of Hawaii bolstered the offensive line throughout his career and played a big part in Lindenwood averaging 173.7 rushing yards per game, which led the Big South-OVC.

Haerr was named to the Big South-OVC All-Academic Team and the FCS Academic All-Star Team. He a junior tight end who carries a perfect 4.0 while majoring in Spanish. On the field, he appeared in 12 games, catching 15 passes for 241 yards.

Glantz recorded a 4.0 GPA, majoring in mass communications. The Elkhorn, Neb. Native started in all 12 games in his first season at Lindenwood. Glantz totaled 23 touchdowns, 17 passing and six rushing during the 2024 season. The 23 touchdowns rank ninth-most in a single-season in program history. His 2,630 yards gained ranks sixth most in program history.

Student-athletes are recognized by CSC members for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered, one must accumulate a cumulative GPA above 3.50 with at least a sophomore athletic and academic standing, while being a starter or key reserve for their respective team. In football, student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of their team’s games played or have started at least 66 percent of games.
