Tech giant Microsoft has announced to invest Rs 3 billion dollars (over Rs 25,000 crores) in India, aiming to boost the country’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud capabilities.

Tech giant Microsoft has announced to invest Rs 3 billion dollars (over Rs 25,000 crores) in India, aiming to boost the country’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud capabilities. 

The move is followed by a meeting of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, i.e., January 6. In a post on ‘X’, the Prime Minister expressed elight over his meeting with CEO Nadella and wrote, “It was indeed a delight to meet you,@satyanadella! Glad to know about Microsoft’s ambitious expansion and investment plans in India.”

PM Modi further stated that the discussion revolved around various aspects of tech, innovation and AI. 

 

 

“It was also wonderful discussing various aspects of tech, innovation and AI in our meeting”, PM Modi wrote. 

Microsoft plans to establish fresh regional infrastructure in India 

Microsoft, the world’s third-largest company by market capitalisation, is gearing up to make its largest-ever expansion in India by focussing on cloud capabilities and enhancing AI infrastructure across the country. 

In a post on ‘X’, the Microsoft CEO expressed his committment to training 10 million Indians with AI skills by the year 2030.

 

 

He wrote, “AI is already transforming the lives of people across India by creating new opportunities and jobs, as stories like Jui’s, Raghavendra’s, and Venkatesh’s show. That’s why we’re committed to helping to equip 10 million Indians with AI skills by 2030.”
