A&L Goodbody tops Irish M&A rankings

A&L Goodbody advised on more M&A transactions than any other Irish law firm in 2024, according to international M&A intelligence publication Mergermarket.

The firm acted on 61 reportable Irish M&A transactions in 2024 and 292 deals in the last five years, also more than any other law firm.

Richard Grey, head of M&A at A&L Goodbody, said: “The Irish and worldwide M&A market remained surprisingly resilient and buoyant in 2024 in the shadow of much political and economic uncertainty, as well as increasing levels of conflict and geo-political tensions worldwide.

“While many of these factors persist into 2025, we anticipate that falling interest rates, increased political stability in Ireland and continued private capital interest in the Irish market will drive even higher levels of M&A activity in Ireland into 2025.
