JSU Tiger Football National Champions Parade schedule
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Friday, Jackson State and the City of Jackson will host the JSU Tiger Football National Champions Parade. The parade will celebrate the Tigers’ victory over South Carolina State in the Celebration Bowl 2024 National HBCU Football Champions.
The event is free and open to the public and will be hosted by Rob J and Alice Marie.
Festivities begin at 4 p.m. Friday with a Celebration Kickoff at City Hall. Fans can take pictures with the Celebration Bowl Trophy, enjoy food from local food trucks, and listen to music from DJ Unpredictable.
At 5 p.m., at the “Welcome to Jackson” mural on State and Pearl Streets, Chelle B will host a pep rally. The JSU and JPS cheerleaders will perform along with Sonny THEE Tiger, the Baby Tigers, and other special guests.
The Championship Parade will begin at 6 p.m., beginning at the “Welcome to Jackson” mural. The parade will start on State Street, head north to Capitol Street, proceed west to West Street, and wrap back to the start on Pascagoula Street.
The event concludes back at the “Welcome to Jackson” mural with the Celebration Stage. At 7 p.m., head coach T.C. Taylor, JSU players, and university leaders, including Athletic Director Ashley Robinson and President Marcus L. Thompson, will address the crowd.
