Gucci Launches Sixth Chapter of Gucci Changemakers North America

Gucci opened applications for the sixth chapter of its Gucci Changemakers North America initiative, which includes the Impact Fund, Scholarship Program and Creative Fellowships.

Called “Manifesting Visions of Tomorrow,” the awardees will be individuals and organizations imagining a positive future in arts and culture.

Gucci Changemakers created a short film directed by Anthony Prince Leslie to recognize the next chapter. The film spotlights Gucci Changemakers Scholars Miles Richards and D’on Lauren Edwards and Impact Fund recipient Custom Collaborative, represented by its executive director, Ngozi Okaro. The film tells the story of humanity’s interconnectedness and the power of changemakers to make a lasting difference in their communities.

Since 2019, the Gucci Changemakers North America Impact Fund has supported 67 nonprofit organizations, impacting the lives of more than 880,000 community members. In addition, the Gucci Changemakers Scholars program has provided funding to 74 talented students. Gucci’s support has resulted in more than $7 million in funding since 2019.

This year’s Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund recipients represent a diverse group of organizations focusing on impactful programs, such as expanding access to the arts for people with disabilities, using STEM concepts to empower girls of color through dance and providing art therapy to LGBTQIA+ youth.

The 2024 recipients were Art Reach, Philadelphia; Art Starts, Toronto; Black Design Collective, Los Angles; Chicago Youth Programs, Chicago; Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Washington, D.C.; National Black Arts Festival, Atlanta; Radical Partners, Miami; Ruth Ellis Center, Detroit; STEM From Dance, New York; The Texas Supremacy of Music & Arts Conservatory, Houston; Trombone Shorty Foundation, New Orleans, and Youth Art Exchange, San Francisco.

The 2024 Gucci Changemakers Creative Fellows cohort was revealed at last year’s CultureCon event in New York. The four recipients, all alumni of the Gucci Changemakers Scholars program were Celeste Nicole, Keith Herron, Yetunde Sapp and Zahri Josita Jackson. Each fellow received a grant and mentorship to launch an independent creative project.

The applications for the sixth round will be accepted through Feb. 21. The Creative Fellows program application is only open to Gucci Changemakers Scholarship recipients. The scholar’s program will remain open to talented and diverse undergraduate students and graduating high school seniors across North America interested in the creative arts and business programs. At the same time, the Impact Fund will award one-year grants for grassroots nonprofit organizations across New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Atlanta and Dallas/Houston.
