Lindenwood women’s ice hockey opens the 2024-25 season at home against #11 ranked St. Cloud State.

PREVIEW

Lindenwood is looking to begin their 2024-25 slate with a series sweep over the nationally ranked Huskies. The Lions were picked to finish in a tie for fifth in the AHA preseason poll. In 2023-24 season, the Lions broke a program for most wins in a season with 11, finishing with a record of 11-19-2 and 6-12-2 in conference play. Lindenwood brings back First Team All-CHA, Morgan Neitzke, to the lineup. Neitzke in the 2023-24 campaign, broke seven program records. The also Lions bring back 78% of their scoring from the previous year. The Lions will have a new face in net with Natalie Ferenc who ranks third all-time in saves (1951), and fourth in saves per game (29.12) graduating in the previous season. 

This will be 21st time, the Lions will match up against the Huskies. Historically, the Lions are 2-16-2 against the Huskies, and recently have lost the last seven games against the Huskies. In the last matchup (October 21, 2023), Lindenwood fell 5-0 to the Huskies in the Ice Breaker Championship. 

St. Cloud was picked to finish fifth in the 2024-25 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Preseason’s Coaches Poll. In the previous season, the Huskies finished with a record 17-17-2, falling to Minnesota Duluth in the WCHA Quarterfinal. The Huskies return their top goal scorer, Emma Gentry, along with a pair of fifth-year goaltenders, Sanni Ahola who was named to the Preseason All-WCHA team and Jojo Chobak.
