Kia India unveils new EV6 with advanced safety features, ET Auto

The new EV6 boasts enhanced safety features derived from the flagship EV9, improved performance, and advanced technology, highlighting Kia’s commitment to sustainable mobility in India. The company also showcased its broader product range and technological advancements at the expo, including the Kia Syros and various interactive exhibits.
Kia India launched the new EV6 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, commencing bookings for the electric vehicle. This launch represents a milestone in Kia’s ongoing transition to electric mobility.
Features
The new Kia EV6 emphasizes safety with its ADAS 2.0 package, encompassing 27 advanced safety and driver assistance features. Five new features have been added: Front Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) – City/Pedestrian/Cyclist/Junction Turning, FCA – Junction Crossing, FCA – Lane Assist Change (Oncoming & Side), FCA – Evasive Steering, and Lane Follow Assist (LFA).
These features are based on technology from Kia’s flagship model, the EV9. The upgrades enhance collision safety, structural rigidity, and overall occupant protection.
The Kia EV9, the brand’s flagship electric SUV, is recognized for its technology and innovation. The EV9 was awarded the WCOTY 2024.
The EV9 has a 99.8 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 561 km on a single charge. Its ultra-fast charging capability enables a 10% to 80% charge in 24 minutes using a 350kW DC charger.
Kia India at Bharat Mobility 2025
Kia India showcased its product range at the Bharat Mobility pavilion, including the newly launched Kia Syros. The display emphasized the company’s focus on global technology, luxurious design, and sustainable engineering. Kia India aims to contribute to India’s vision for a sustainable transportation ecosystem.

Kia’s expo presence included technology demonstrations focused on innovation and sustainability. The E-Vision concept showcased the E-GMP platform and 4th Gen Battery technology. The Kia Smart Home demonstrated V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capabilities powered by the EV9.
Design
The new EV6 incorporates Kia’s Opposites United design language, featuring a sportier front end. Design enhancements include new Star Map lighting with connected DRLs, a GT-Line front bumper, 19-inch glossy alloy wheels, and star-map LED rear combination lamps.
The EV9’s interior features a Trinity panoramic display, combining three HD screens. With over 27 autonomous ADAS features, multi-collision brakes, vehicle stability management, and a 10-airbag system, the EV9 prioritizes safety.
The interior of the new EV6 boasts a more premium and spacious cabin. Features like the double D-cut steering wheel with hands-on detection technology enhance the driving experience and safety.
Battery
The new EV6 has an 84-kWh battery, providing a range of over 650 km, an improvement from the previous 77.4 kWh battery. With a power output of 325 PS and 605 Nm of torque, the EV6 offers enhanced performance. A 350-kW fast charger enables a 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes.
The new EV6’s ADAS 2.0 package includes 27 advanced safety and driver assistance features, including five new autonomous features. These include FCA 2.0 – Junction Turning, FCA 2.0 – Junction Crossing, FCA 2.0 – Lane Change Assist, FCA 2.0 – Evasive Steering Assist, and LFA 2.0 – Lane Follow Assist.
Kia connect 2.0
The Kia EV9 introduces advanced technology, including Kia Connect 2.0 for seamless device connectivity, real-time updates, and remote vehicle control. OTA updates enable continuous software improvements, and 44 remote diagnostic controllers monitor vehicle performance.
The EV9’s Digital Key 2.0 allows smartphone vehicle access, and the V2L feature enables powering devices on the go. Designed with the ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, the EV9 features a futuristic angular design and a digital pattern lighting grille.
