Morocco’s e-Visa System Shows Upward Trend in Tourism
Morocco’s e-visa system, rolled out in July 2022 to boost its tourist appeal, has shown positive results, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy.
Since its launch, Morocco has issued 385,738 e-visas up to the end of 2024, with 95% of them granted for tourism, the Ministry reports. This highlights the system’s key role in simplifying travel to the Kingdom for recreational purposes.
A 6% increase in e-visa issuance was recorded in 2024 compared with the previous year, reflecting growing demand driven by streamlined administrative processes.
2024 data reveals an overall positive trend, further confirming that the system aligns with Morocco’s tourism development strategy, the Ministry adds.
On average, 13,500 e-visa are granted each month, with a peak of 16,900 visas issued in November 2024.
Visitors from 111 nationalities benefited from e-visa during 2024, underlining Morocco’s strategy of diversifying its markets.
India stands out with 36,690 e-visas granted, up 52% on 2023, followed by notable growth from countries such as Pakistan (+100%), Nigeria (+36%) and Egypt (+45%).
By offering a digitalized and efficient visa procedure, Morocco has reaffirmed its commitment to welcoming a diversity of travelers, helping bring more visitors to discover the richness of the country.
