SANY India Showcases Domestic Manufacturing at Mobility Expo
SANY India displayed its locally manufactured construction equipment at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, emphasizing its focus on domestic production. The company presented machinery with components manufactured at its Chakan facility in Pune, including engines, hydraulic systems, and track components.
The manufacturer introduced electric variants of its construction equipment, featuring mining dump trucks, forklifts, and terminal tractors at the exhibition. These additions align with the industry’s shift toward reducing emissions in heavy machinery.
Speaking at the event, Sanjay Saxena, COO of Sales, Marketing & Customer Support at SANY Heavy Industry India, highlighted the company’s participation in domestic manufacturing initiatives. He emphasized their focus on reducing import dependence through local production.
SANY India, which entered the Indian market in 2009, has been expanding its domestic manufacturing capabilities. The company’s Chakan plant, established in 2014, serves as its primary manufacturing hub in India. The facility produces construction equipment including excavators, cranes, and concrete machinery.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo, in its second edition, focuses on showcasing India’s capabilities in mobility and manufacturing sectors. The event’s theme, “Viksit Bharat ke Vikasrath” (Vehicles of Developed India’s Progress), reflects the government’s push toward self-reliance in manufacturing.
The construction equipment sector in India has seen steady growth, driven by infrastructure development projects and increased government spending on construction. Industry analysts expect the sector to maintain its growth trajectory, supported by ongoing infrastructure initiatives and urbanization projects.
SANY’s expansion in domestic manufacturing comes as India aims to reduce its dependence on imported heavy machinery and establish itself as a manufacturing hub. The company continues to operate its pavilion at the expo through the duration of the event.
