GNU minister, UN official discuss boosting humanitarian efforts
Minister of Social Affairs of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Wafaa Al-Kilani, met with the UN Deputy Special Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator, Aminas Mitouma, in Tripoli to strengthen cooperation on key humanitarian priorities.
The talks focused on supporting internally displaced persons affected by natural disasters, implementing a comprehensive social protection strategy, and establishing a humanitarian and community contact center to improve access to critical services.
Minister Al-Kilani stressed the importance of continued collaboration with the United Nations to ensure effective aid delivery to displaced families and vulnerable groups. She called for enhanced coordination in rolling out social protection initiatives.
Meanwhile, Mitouma reaffirmed the UN’s dedication to supporting Libya’s efforts to improve humanitarian responses and promote sustainable development across the country.
