Blue Moon Saloon for sale in Lafayette LA | Real Estate
The Blue Moon Saloon & Guesthouse looms large in Lafayette’s cultural scene — especially during downtown events like Festival International, when local and traveling musicians fill the stage, dancers take to the floor, and the guest rooms fill with people looking to experience life and music in Acadiana.
Now, this bar, music venue and guesthouse that has become a Freetown landmark over the past 24 years is up for sale.
The listing price for Blue Moon Saloon & Guesthouse, located at 215 E. Convent St., Lafayette, is $1,200,000. Jamie Knight with District South Real Estate Co. has the listing, which covers 7,000 square feet, and includes a bar, stage, dance floor, an attached guesthouse, and adjacent short term rentals, which are approved on the site.

Lafayette businessman Mark Falgout has owned and operated the venue since 2001. He also owns Warehouse 525, an event space at 535 Garfield St., Lafayette, known for hosting events like the Celtic Bayou Festival.
The Blue Moon Saloon real estate listing states that potential buyers have the opportunity to add food services to the business’s offerings, which currently does not include a permitted commercial kitchen. It also specifies that “trained staff and current owner are happy to share their experience and stay on to ensure a smooth transition if needed,” calling the sale a “treasure trove of opportunity.”
On New Year’s Day, Mark Falgout and Blue Moon Saloon featured in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California on the “Louisiana Saturday Night” float, sponsored by Explore Louisiana. The Louisiana float won a “Best of Show” award for its design and use of floral and non-floral materials.
