Dodge County 4, Eastview 4, OT (tie)

KASSON — Dodge County senior defender Claire Dixon scored a pair of power-play goals and senior goalie Ida Huber stopped 28 shots — including four in overtime — as Dodge County, the No. 3-ranked girls hockey team in Class 1A preserved a 4-4 tie against visiting Eastview on Saturday at Dodge County Ice Arena.

The Wildcats (16-3-2 overall) led 2-1 after one period, then briefly trailed after Eastview rallied with goals from Brielle Clardy and Layla Glassen 2:32 apart to take a 3-2 lead with 7:29 to go in the second.

Dodge quickly responded, though, as Nora Carstensen scored on a power play to tie the score 3-3.

The teams traded goals in the third — Dixon scored on a power play 5:24 in, then Ella Schaefer answered for Eastview on a power play with 3:50 to go.

That was it for the scoring, as the goalies did the rest. Bethan Bigalke made 48 saves for the Lightning (7-13-3), including seven in overtime.

Maysie Koch also scored and had one assist for the Wildcats, who play at Northfield at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
