1-day Delhi-Meerut RRTS tour to be promoted | Meerut News

The Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor, spanning 82 kilometres, connects Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut via Ghaziabad. This regional transit system has 16 Namo Bharat stations, whilst also integrating 9 dedicated Meerut Metro stations, establishing itself as a comprehensive transportation network for the region. MEERUT: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the agency entrusted with constructing the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor in the NCR, is planning to promote a one-day excursion to the cities of Meerut and Delhi.
Once the corridor is completed, it will reduce the travel time for the 84km distance between the two cities to less than an hour.
“Within a few months, it will take just 50 minutes to travel from Delhi to Meerut and vice versa. Both cities are known for their historical landmarks, culinary delights and vibrant markets. With the Namo Bharat train, a one-day getaway to Meerut has never been easier,” said Puneet Vats, chief public relations officer, NCRTC.
Meerut is renowned for the 1857 uprising against the British, which spread throughout North India. It houses the country’s only museum dedicated to the uprising, along with several monuments and relics.
