‘Tourism Fiji expanding existing markets’
Tourism Fiji is expanding existing markets and exploring new opportunities as it focuses on growing and diversifying its inbound source markets.
And with two major events coming up – the Asia Pacific Incentives Meetings Event (AIME) in Melbourne, Australia next month, and India’s leading travel trade show OTM (outbound travel market) next week – Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill said he looked forward to working with their team there to see what they needed to do to grow that market and diversify inbound source markets.
“It’s a packed schedule and we’re excited to promote Fiji more in this huge market,” Mr Hill said in his market update to industry partners.
He said Tourism Fiji was well into the swing of this year and their focus remained on maintaining the strong momentum they had built over the past few years, delivering on its strategic objectives and helping the industry to grow sustainably.
“We’re aiming to go bigger than 2024’s record breaking year, and bookings are coming in strongly, particularly from March, which is great to see.”
Mr Hill also highlighted their “record-breaking” growth across their digital platforms, recording more than 5million unique visitors to their website last year, and generated over 37,000 leads for local operators – “boosting Fiji’s visibility like never before”.
“What this means is that our marketing is translating to increased awareness and creating both interest and leads out to operators, which is so important.”
Mr Hill said they had also commenced the Loloma Hour, the world’s first happy hour for the environment – “an industry wide campaign to ensure that through tourism we give back to our communities”.
