Artist Tsolmonbayar Opens Solo Exhibition

Ulaanbaatar, February 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Artist Tsolmonbayar Batbaatar has unveiled his Solo Exhibition, “Ayan Ninety-Nine Year Land,” at the exhibition hall of the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum on January 31, 2025.

In this Exhibition, Tsolmonbayar explores the uniqueness of thought, folklore, and traditional culture of Mongolia, intertwining them with research and archaeological findings. He presents these themes in a way that resonates with modern audiences, incorporating elements of everyday objects. While globalization accelerates cultural interactions and blending, the artist seeks to highlight the distinct characteristics of national consciousness through his work.

The Exhibition also showcases the lasting influence of Pop Art movement that gained prominence in the 1960s and continues to shape artistic expression worldwide, including Mongolia.

Drawing inspiration from folklore, Tsolmonbayar creates imaginative characters, vividly brought to life with the bright and bold colors typical of Pop Art. He enhances the details using fine lines, blending the contemporary style with traditional Eastern painting techniques. Additionally, his approach involves extensive research and various artistic development methods, all of which are reflected in the exhibition.

Featuring more than 50 works under three main categories, including sculpture, painting, and sketch drawings will be open to visitors until February 9, 2025.
