Georgian PM to address 79th session of UN General Assembly
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will deliver a speech at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday in New York, the Government Administration said.
As part of his official visit to the US from Sunday through Thursday, the head of the Government will also participate in the Summit of the Future, organised by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba.
The Administration noted that the meeting of the PM and António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, was also planned during the US visit.
Kobakhidze is set to attend an official reception, which will be held by US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden in honour of the heads of delegations participating in the 79th session of the General Assembly.
The 79th session of the UN General Assembly marks a crucial milestone in the global effort to accelerate progress towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
