Now a days, an actor’s stardom is often measured by their box office performance. The higher your box office earnings, the bigger the actor you become. Today, the term ‘Pan-India’ is widely used, thanks to filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who introduced megastar Prabhas to North with Baahubali, breaking down regional barriers.

However, being a pan-India star doesn’t give you a great box office success. There is one actress, who is a star in Telugu cinema but is having a hard time to crack a great film in Bollywood. She has worked with several superstars, but hasn’t delivered any solo hit in her career yet. We are talking about Pooja Hegde.

Pooja made her acting debut opposite Jiiva in the 2012 Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi. The film turned out to be a commercial and critical flop. In 2014, she made her debut with her second film Oka Laila Kosam with Naga Chaitanya, which was highly successful and cemented Pooja’s status in Tollywood. Later, she gained success after starring in successful Telugu films like Oka Laila Kosam (2014) and Mukunda (2014).

Following her success in Telugu films, Pooja embarked towards Bollywood and signed Ashutosh Govariker’s Mohenjo Daro, in which she was paired opposite Hrithik Roshan. The much awaited movie was released in 2016, but it turned out to be a commercial flop.

Pooja’s second Hindi film, was Akshay Kumar-starrer Housefull 4 (2019), which became a super hit. Apart from Housefull 4, Pooja hasn’t starred in any solo hits. Her next two Hindi films were Ranveer Singh-starrer Cirkus and Salman Khan-starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Both the films were critically panned and flopped badly at the box office.

Pooja also starred in Pan-India film Radhe Shyam, alongside Prabhas, which became one of the biggest flops after its release. The actress was recently seen with Shahid Kapoor in the action thriller, Deva, which crossed Rs 30 crore at the Indian box office but underperformed overall. She will be next seen alongside Suriya in Karthik Subbaraj’s Tamil romantic action film Retro.

Well, despite no major hits, Pooja still stands as one of India’s highest-paid actresses with net worth estimated to be around Rs 55-60 crore.
