Three-time Olympic medalist Jade Carey is making waves in her final collegiate gymnastics season. At the midpoint of the 2025 NCAA season, Carey sits atop the leaderboard as the No. 1 NCAA gymnast in the country. Not to mention, Carey is undefeated. The Oregon State star has clinched seven out of seven all-around titles to start her senior season.
Week six’s rankings mark four consecutive weeks with Carey atop the national all-around standings. Holding a 39.690 average, the Olympic Champion holds her lead over a trio of Oklahoma Sooner superstars and the Florida Gators’ four-time World medalist Leanne Wong.
In addition to leading the standings, Carey set the national record in the all-around, posting a massive 39.800 in Oregon State’s win over San Jose State. Ironically, the 2024 Olympic bronze medalist on vault is ranked in the top 10 on every event except her Paris 2024 specialty (where she is ranked 11th).

Currently, Carey is ranked 3rd on bars, 1st on beam, and 6th on floor – an event where she was the Tokyo Olympic Champion in 2021. While she continues to lead the nation on multiple events, Carey has yet to score a perfect ten in 2025. Instead, her Olympic teammate Jordan Chiles leads the nation with two perfect scores.
Carey collected 12 perfect scores in her first three seasons as an Oregon State gymnast. Though the “10.0” hasn’t appeared yet in her final year, trends suggest one is coming. In just five weeks of competition, Carey has scored a 9.975 (receiving a ten from at least one judge) on four occasions. The Oregon State star has also scored 9.90 or better – the gold standard in NCAA Gymnastics – on 18 of 20 (or 90%) routines in 2025.
Though women’s college gymnastics is experiencing a recent decrease in perfect scores due to judging reform, Jade Carey fans are always on 10.0-watch for their star.

Unmatched Consistency
Though her 2025 stats are impressive, they are far from surprising for the World Champion. When her college career ends later this spring, Carey will likely go down as one of the most consistent competitors in college gymnastics history.
In four years of competition – including multiple high-stakes conference and national championships, Carey has not fallen. At the close of the 2024 season, Carey secured a perfect hit rating, hitting 145/145 competitive routines from 2022 through 2024. As of today’s date, Carey is already at a perfect 24 for 24.
Carey doesn’t just boast Olympic and World titles – she possesses otherworldly mental strength. In NCAA Women’s Gymnastics, six athletes compete on each event and the top five scores count towards the team total. To maintain their national ranking, top teams like Oregon State typically look for scores of 9.8 or higher from their five scores. Conversely, they will look to “drop” a score below 9.8.
When it comes to producing a ‘counting’ score for the team, few athletes are more reliable than Jade Carey. Since starting her college career in 2022, Carey has scored lower than 9.80 only twice. That’s a score of 9.80 or higher on 98.8% of routines. In other words, Jade Carey is the standard.
As the momentum shifts toward the second half of the regular season, teams begin to set their sights on postseason competition. For Carey, one accolade remains elusive: an NCAA national title. With four runner-up finishes to her name, Carey could close her historic collegiate career with a trip to the top of the podium.
However, the regular season is far from over. With six weeks remaining until the postseason begins, Carey and the No. 10 Beavers look to continue climbing the national leaderboard. On February 28th, Oregon State will face its biggest test yet.
The Beavers will take on No. 7 California, No. 13 Stanford, and UC Davis at a quad meet on Stanford’s campus. The meet will also feature a high-octane clash between Carey and All-American Mya Lauzon, both top 10 gymnasts in the all-around. Last week, Lauzon became the third gymnast to score a 10.0 in 2025.
Could Carey soon join that list? Perfect tens and NCAA titles or not, the superstar senior continues to raise the bar for women’s collegiate gymnastics.
