Finally, at 12 PM on Wednesday, February 12, the long-waited arrived, and let’s just say, it might leave you blushing. Things start out innocent as Green pulls up to the tiny house in a Bronco wearing his Sunday best with flowers and a bottle of wine in hand. Meanwhile, inside the mystery girl is preparing a romantic candlelit dinner.
However, as the song continues, the Alabama makes it clear he wants to skip dinner and cut right to the chase. So he tosses the roses and wine to the side as he sings, “Tonight, I ain’t bringin’ no wine/ Tonight, I ain’t bringin’ no roses/ Talkin’ would take too much time, I think I just better show you/ Just turn the lights down, let’s get right down to it/ As soon as I walk in the door. I don’t wanna be out of line, but girl, I can’t wait anymore.”

No time is wasted as the lovers allow their desire for each other takeover in full force, letting nothing get in their way, even if it means breaking glass and putting holes in walls while stumbling around the house. The pair finds themselves unable to break apart from each other’s lips.
In the following scene they embark on an evening of fine dining, that is quickly interrupted by the tension between them. This leads them to cause a scene in the restaurant. Onlookers stare in shock as the women crawls across the table and prompts a steamy make out session with the country star.
After a night of passionate intimacy, the woman is seen sitting on the kitchen counter wearing just her red lingerie and Green’s sport coat while he appears to be eating a bowl of cereal in his robe. Several fans have caught onto the fact that this was set up to be a recreation of Susan Sarandon and Kevin Costner’s iconic scene in the film, Bull Durham.
Their fiery chemistry starts to heat up once again as a shirtless Riley Green carries his love interest to the bedroom. In the process, he kicks over a lamp, leaving them in the darkness and marking the end of the music video.

In between the steamy takes, Green is sat in the same Bronco, delivering the narrative through his seductive baritone vocals. His charming delivery paired with the song’s minimal production allows listeners to focus in on the intensity behind the storyline.
“I want you in the worst way, my hands are needin’ your hips/ Want the first taste of whiskey to be off your lips/ So close all the blinds, lock all the doors/ Put away anything that’ll break/ Baby, I need you tonight/ Let’s see how much love we can make/ I want you in the worst way,” the Alabama native sings on the chorus.

Since its release, the self-penned song has transformed into a streaming giant and remains a stand-out on Green’s Way Out Here EP. While opening up about the inspiration behind the tune during an interview with Kelleigh Bannen on The Kelleigh Bannen Show on Apple Music Country, he revealed that he channeled the same intense emotions found in Eric Church’s “Wrecking Ball” and John Mayer’s Mayer’s “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”
“When I wrote “Worst Way” that was in [the vein of Eric Church’s ‘Wrecking Ball’.] And I had a vision of just songs that give me that type of feeling that over the years, ‘Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,’ John Mayer, that vibe, something about that was so cool and to make it country and to make it my own,” he explained.
Riley Green will bring his sultry tune, along with the rest of his fan-favorites, to life live on stage throughout his headlining Damn Country Music Tour, which launches in March.
