Norman Putsure College hosts 3rd Annual Sports Week | MorungExpress
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): Norman Putsure College concluded its 3rd Annual Sports Week on February 12, after four days of competition among students.
The event, held from February 11-14, began with an opening ceremony at the college campus, where Principal Dr. K. Timothy Hau encouraged students to participate with enthusiasm and team spirit. He emphasized the growing importance of sports and stressed the need to create an inclusive space that provides equal opportunities for the college’s diverse student body.
Students competed in various events, including badminton, football, javelin throw, basketball, volleyball, tug-of-war, kho-kho, chess, and traditional games like bamboo stilt racing and bamboo pole climbing. Outdoor games were held at the NAPTC Ground on Feb. 12 and 13 to give students wider exposure.
The competition featured four houses—Aqua, Ignis, Terra, and Ventus—vying for the championship title. After days of intense matches, Ventus emerged as the overall winner, claiming the winner’s trophy.
In addition to the sporting events, stalls offering food and refreshments commemorated Valentine’s Day on the final day of the competition.
