Muscat – The four-day event, which will run until February 19, brings together 800 athletes from a range of disciplines, with participation from 19 public and private sector institutions, alongside 61 administrators and supervisors.
The forum, which showcases 8 different sports, aims to provide a comprehensive sports experience for all participants and visitors. Among the sports featured are beach soccer, beach volleyball, tug of war, tartan football, indoor volleyball (for both men and women), and padel. The events are being held at key locations across Duqm, including Duqm Beach Park, OQ8 Hall, and Park Inn Padel Courts, ensuring a diverse range of activities for attendees.
Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Akaak, CEO of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm, emphasised that the forum highlights Duqm’s growing prominence as a hub for investment, tourism, and entertainment. He noted that the event showcases the region’s scenic beaches, which will host several beach sports. The forum, he said, reflects the region’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and workers by fostering a healthy environment through sports and cultural activities.
In addition to the competitive sports events, the forum will feature a variety of entertainment activities, including live musical performances, children’s activities, and paragliding shows, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. The forum’s broad range of offerings will not only contribute to the development of sports in the region but also enhance community engagement, making it a memorable event for all who participate.
