Mongolian Strict Curl Athletes Chinguun and Erat Win Five Gold Medals
Ulaanbaatar, February 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Open Eurasian Strict Curl Championship took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on February 14-16, 2025, where the Mongolian Team secured five gold medals.
Strict Curl athlete of Mongolia Chinguun Altannar claimed three gold medals, while national record holder and World Cup champion Erat Nurdiikhan earned two gold medals.
A total of 320 athletes from 25 countries competed in the Open Championship. Mongolia emerged as the overall team champion, winning the championship trophy. It is a tradition in strict curl competitions to award the trophy to the top three countries with the highest points. After two years, Mongolia has once again brought this prestigious trophy back home.
Strict curl as a sport has been developing in Mongolia since 2019, and the athletes have made a solid start to 2025 by securing five gold medals in their first competition of the year.
