Lauren Graham’s festive comedy has dropped an extended trailer ahead of its November cinema release.

Set in the lead-up to Christmas, the movie sees a small town’s annual pageant in shambles when six misfit children, the rowdy Herdmans AKA “the worst kids in the history of the world”, volunteer to star in it.

Couple Grace and Bob Bradley, portrayed by Judy Greer and Pete Holmes, are in charge of the pageant, with director Grace having to win the town’s resistance to welcome the Herdmans to the show.

Lionsgate is releasing the movie in the US on November 8, with a UK release date to be announced.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is Graham’s first big film role in eight years, following 2016 comedy Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life.

Speaking about the star’s crucial role, producer Kevin Downes said: “We’ve been huge fans of Lauren for 25 years and have dreamed of one day working with her. She brings her signature warmth and charm that makes her perfect for this cast.”

Graham has also joined the cast of dark comedy Twinless, also starring James Sweeney, who wrote and direct the movie, Dylan O’Brien and Aisling Franciosi.

The film follows two young men who strike an unlikely friendship when they attend a twin bereavement support group.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is released in US cinemas on November 8. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
