Later the War will be an adaptation of the short story Debby’s Dream House by author Iddo Gefen. The original short story was about a man who manufactured dreams and, later, nightmares for people. The plot details of Kaufman’s rendition of the story are currently unknown.
The Filmography of Kaufman
Both screenwriter and director, Kaufman is arguably best known for the sci-fi rom-com Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, starring Jim Carrey as Joel Barish and Kate Winslet as Clementine Kruczynski. By far, Kaufman’s most successful film, grossing $73 million at the box office, follows the gut-wrenching story of a broken-up couple where one chooses to erase their memories of the other.
Kaufman’s most recent film, Orion and the Dark is stylistically far different from the filmmakers’ typical work. Unlike previous animated film, the r-rated Anomalisa, Orion and the Dark was far more family-centered than his usual work while retaining some more grim elements.
Currently, there is no release date for Later the War.
