Top Solo Travel Destinations of 2025, India Tops the List
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Solo travel is one of the journeys that can empower yourself. Starting from increasing independence by exploring a foreign city, increasing confidence in daring to take new transportation to enjoying time alone. The choice of destination also affects your trip.
According to a new report by Kensington, a luxury guided travel service, India is ranked as the top destination for those who want to travel solo by 2025. The report only takes into account findings from “affluent” travelers, and the insights are compiled from Kensington’s 2024 data and two external surveys conducted in collaboration with Opinium Research and Dig Insight.
The Affluent Traveller Survey report shows that almost 76 percent of respondents are very open to taking an international solo trip in the next three years, with a small percentage reporting more interest in it. Although there was a decline in solo travelers after the Covid-19 pandemic, the number has increased again in recent years.
According to Matt Cammaert, SVP of marketing at Kensington, travelers who want to travel solo are increasingly choosing destinations with deep cultural meaning and unique landscapes balanced with independence and personalized and seamless service.
“They want the freedom to explore on their own terms while enjoying expert guidance, exclusive access and itineraries tailored to their interests,” she told Travel + Leisure.

“With world-class accommodations, renowned wellness retreats and a wealth of history and tradition, it’s no surprise that India continues to top the list of solo travellers seeking adventure and personal transformation,” she said.
If you are interested in solo traveling to India, it is a good idea to plan every step carefully to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Starting from planning your destination, transportation options, accommodation and local attractions. As reported by the Times New India, safety should be a priority. Make sure you know all about the customs, traditions and local safety guidelines for each destination you want to visit.
Avoid traveling alone at night, especially in unknown or remote areas. Stay informed about travel advice or security issues in the area and trust your instincts, if you feel unsafe in any situation it is better to cancel.
