A meeting of women leaders will be held within the framework of the UN forum in Turkmenistan

The upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) includes a meeting of women leaders. Women’s leadership is essential to addressing today’s global challenges, including those faced by landlocked developing countries.

In Turkmenistan, much attention is paid to the development of the women’s movement. As one of the largest public organizations in the country, the Women’s Union acts as an authoritative force in the implementation of creative reforms. The high position of Turkmen women in society demonstrates the level of development and the steady process of democratization of the country, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Important indicators of public health include care for mothers and children, strong family values, and assistance to large families. And this work reflects democratic values and national traditions. This is confirmed by their contribution to counteracting the negative consequences of climate change, protecting the environment, as well as solving pressing issues of socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian development, modernizing healthcare and education.

Today, all conditions for a dignified life and creative work for women are being created in the country.

Currently, the National Action Plan for Gender Equality for 2021-2025 is being implemented, which is already the second one. The document is aimed at creating conditions for further expanding the participation of women in all spheres of state and society, achieving sustainable development and stable economic progress through adherence to the principles of gender equality. At the same time, programs for the protection of motherhood and childhood, social support for large families, etc. are being successfully implemented.

The meeting of women leaders within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is intended to demonstrate recognition and support at the highest level of women’s aspirations to contribute to political, socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian processes, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring stability at the regional and global levels, strengthening peace and trust between states and peoples.

Let us remind you that the international forum LLDC3 will be held from August 4 to 8 at the “Avavza” National Tourist Zone.
