Action plan finalised for Science Technology and Innovation Hub in Gamharia
Jamshedpur, Aug 7: A review meeting was held at CSIR-NML on August 7 to finalise the action plan for the DST-approved project “Science Technology and Innovation Hub in village Gamharia.” The project is a joint initiative of CSIR-NML and XITE College, Gamharia.
Dr. B.K. Jha, Chief Scientist at ICAR and a member of the DST Expert Committee, chaired the meeting. He is also serving as the project mentor. The meeting was attended by representatives from both partner institutions.
Under the guidance of Dr. Jha, a structured six-month action plan was drawn up to ensure the effective implementation of the project. Key interventions planned include training 120 households from six villages in oyster mushroom cultivation and training 10 master trainers in lemongrass farming. Additionally, the project will demonstrate model systems for rainwater harvesting and drip irrigation to support small-scale kitchen gardens.
These initiatives aim to improve livelihoods, boost household incomes, ensure food and nutritional security, and promote community development, particularly through women’s empowerment.
Dr. Jha expressed satisfaction with the meeting outcomes and assured continued support throughout the project. The team thanked him for his valuable insights and committed to executing the plan with dedication.
The project promises to make a meaningful impact on rural development in Gamharia and surrounding areas.
